We are grateful for the community’s strong support at the Pre-Flight Festival and Market at MSU this past week. There were 1,200 people in attendance for the event! Your presence helped highlight the arts and honor Sheppard Air Force Base. A big thank you to the talented artists and artisans who were part of this. Your contributions made the festival vibrant and memorable. We also want to thank our incredible partners and cohosts, including MSU Texas, the Museum of Art at MSU, the YMCA, and the Wichita Falls Chamber of Commerce.

The Wichita Falls Alliance for Arts and Culture extended its support to Sheppard Air Force Base by commissioning local artist Fuago to create a patriotic mural on a decommissioned A-10C Thunderbolt II canopy. This art piece was prominently displayed at the entry of the Air Show

At the Air Show, teaching artist Ramona Stegal and MSU Fain Fine Arts students, Eli Coker and Hailey Padilha, led a free hands-on art activity for families. They encouraged young visitors to design airplanes inspired by the aircraft at the base. This activity was a hit! Visit our Air Show Photo Gallery to see the mural’s progression and the creative artworks submitted by young artists and their families.

Thank you once again to all who supported these events!
