Help us keep the arts working for you! The Wichita Falls Alliance for Arts and Culture is committed to creating a more vibrant community.
Our art in public places projects have started new conversations about the role creativity plays in solving community concerns. Citywide projects have renewed neighborhood identities, initiated partnerships within the greater non-profit sector and put artists to work changing the look of our city. From the mega sculpture of individually designed fence posts to the inspiring Wichita Dome and colorful murals installed across the Eastside – The Alliance is dedicated to the renewal of our shared creative spirit.
Children and their families are at the center of our commitment to creativity. Our projects encourage students to embark on their own journey of art making, and guided by a trained corps of Teaching Artists, young people across the city learn to solve problems creatively, and find joy imagining new ways of expressing themselves though art making.
Local artists are the backbone of the changes you see happening right before your eyes. In the coming year, artists will transform the much-loved Conservatory pond at River Bend Nature Center to deepen student learning; partner with teachers and parents as teachers to design creative, imaginative online arts lessons; and if that’s not enough, a team of local artists will give a larger-than-life-size facelift to a highly visible downtown parking garage.
Your contribution to the Wichita Falls Alliance for Arts and Culture during Texoma Gives keeps artists working – and goes a long way toward keeping Wichita Falls a great place to live.
