“Recovering Creativity” is a transformative series of Artist Development Workshops hosted by the Wichita Falls Alliance for Arts and Culture in 2024. Designed with local creatives in mind, the workshops will provide tools to help attendees overcome the pressures, insecurities, and barriers that are blocking them from a joyful artistic practice. These workshops are FREE and open to anyone with a creative spirit.

The workshops are free to attend, but we do ask that participants register in advance.

Unconventional Paths to Success in the Arts with Nick Jaina – Saturday, May 18

Musician and author Nick Jaina will lead a workshop with the objective of re-thinking the career path as an artist to include all the adjustments, mistakes, and new opportunities that arise when trying to survive in a world that hasn’t always appreciated artists in financial ways.

Nick has co-founded a ballet company in New York City, led a band on cross-country tours, played music for money in the street, scored films soundtracks, written one-man shows, and authored three books. He has found a way to not only survive as an artist but remain vibrant, all without getting to sing a duet with Paul Simon at the Grammys that he had dreamed about as a child.

Where: Downtown YMCA
1010 9th Street
Wichita Falls, TX 76301

When: Saturday, May 18th, 2-24

  • Session One: 10 am-12 pm
  • Session Two: 1 pm-3 pm
