The Wichita Falls Alliance for Arts and Culture is hosting a weeklong residency of the talented Texas Shakespeare Festival. The company’s Roadshow Tour brings abridged productions of Shakespeare into schools and communities throughout Texas, Louisiana, and Arkansas.

The Texas Shakespeare Festival performs with a Globe Theatre aesthetic, using acoustic instruments to create live music and sound effects from a seven-member acting company that plays all parts in the show. The company will provide free performances for high school students across the Region 9 Service Area.

The company will provide two shows to local audiences: an hour-long adaptation of Romeo & Juliet, set in contemporary clothing with hints of Elizabethan silhouettes, and an original play called Shakespeare’s Greatest Hits, which presents five of Shakespeare’s most famous scenes along with narration, live music, and audience participation.
