The Wichita Falls Alliance for Arts and Culture is supporting the development of a new mural at Wichita Falls Regional Airport in recognition of the German Air Force’s 60th anniversary at Sheppard Air Force Base.

The project will honor the long-standing relationship between Wichita Falls, Sheppard Air Force Base, and the German Air Force. Located inside the airport, the mural will welcome visitors while celebrating six decades of international partnership and community connection.

Lindsey Jenkins has been selected as artist for project. Jenkins is a North Texas mural artist based in Graham. Her design features a large training aircraft as the centerpiece, surrounded by aviation-inspired graphics and references to Sheppard Air Force Base and the German Air Force Pilot Training Program.

The mural will be painted inside Wichita Falls Regional Airport on existing airport paneling. The location was selected because of the airport’s direct connection to Sheppard Air Force Base and its role as an entry point into the city.

The final mural is expected to be completed this mid-October 2026.
