The Wichita Falls Alliance for Arts and Culture will unveil a special exhibition for Black History Month, showcasing the achievements of African American City Councilors. The exhibition will be on view throughout February 2025 at the Multi-Purpose Events Center located at 1000 5th Street in Wichita Falls.

The exhibition features portraits and biographical displays of African American City Councilors, highlighting their contributions and impact on the community. The portraits, created by local artist Jessica B. Johnson, were commissioned by Ms. Brenda Jarrett.

The exhibition will be on view during the regular City Council meeting on Tuesday, February 4, 2025, at 8:30 a.m. at the MPEC. During the meeting, Mayor Tim Short will issue a proclamation recognizing February as Black History Month.

The public is encouraged to visit the MPEC in February to view the exhibition.
