Congratulations to Margie Johnson Reese on her appointment as Interim Executive Director of the African American Museum of Dallas. She will serve in this role following the retirement of longtime director and founder Harry Robinson Jr. to support the museum’s search for its next leader.

As the founding Executive Director of the Alliance, her work in Wichita Falls work strengthened the region’s creative sector. Margie’s impact continues to be felt in Wichita Falls and beyond.

Margie’s career has included leadership roles in Dallas, Los Angeles, and internationally. She helped create Big Thought in Dallas, led cultural initiatives in West Africa for the Ford Foundation, and previously served as director of the Office of Cultural Affairs for the City of Dallas.
