The Wichita Falls Alliance for Arts and Culture, in partnership with the City of Wichita Falls, is pleased to announce Lindsey Jenkins as the selected artist for the German Air Force 60th Anniversary Mural at Wichita Falls Regional Airport.

The mural will honor 60 years of German Air Force training at Sheppard Air Force Base. Since 1966, the German Air Force has sent pilot students to Sheppard for training. In 1981, this partnership became part of the Euro-NATO Joint Jet Pilot Training Program, known as ENJJPT.

Jenkins is a North Texas mural artist based in Graham. Her selected concept features a large training aircraft as the centerpiece, surrounded by bold aviation-inspired graphics, flight paths, and references to Sheppard Air Force Base and the German Air Force Pilot Training Program.

The project recognizes the long-standing relationship between Wichita Falls, Sheppard Air Force Base, and Germany. It also reflects the role Wichita Falls has played in welcoming generations of German Air Force personnel and their families.

The mural will be painted inside Wichita Falls Regional Airport. The location was selected because of the airport’s direct connection to Sheppard Air Force Base and its role as an entry point into the city.

The final mural is expected to be completed mid-October 2026.
