Thank our state lawmakers for supporting the arts!! Four Wichita Falls arts nonprofits received state funding for the first round of grants from the Texas Commission on the Arts in 2020.

TCA Commissioners approved funding of 868 grants in the first funding round for fiscal year 2020. The grants total over $8.9 million and will go to nonprofits and units of government in 111 Texas cities – including four nonprofit organizations in Wichita Falls: Arts Council of Wichita Falls/Kemp Center, Wichita Falls Alliance for Arts and Culture, Wichita Falls Symphony Orchestra, and Wichita Falls Youth Symphony Orchestra.

These grants include the Arts Create program, which provides operational support to established arts organizations; the revived Cultural District Project grants; the first of two funding rounds for the Arts Respond Project program; the quarterly Arts Respond Performance Support program; and the quarterly Commission Initiatives and Designated Funding program.
