Experience the ultimate story of God’s plan for redemption. Framed around Jesus’ conversation on the Emmaus Road, this piece is compiled of passages from Genesis to Revelation and shows how all of scripture points to the person and work of Christ. The One Story incorporates original orchestrations and other artistic elements to bring beautiful clarity to the Scriptures.
Piercing Word is passionate about coming alongside Christian Leaders in order to engage people with the Word of God through live scripture performances. Our mission is to ignite passion for the Word of God in the heart of the Church. Piercing Word does this by performing scripture in musical and dramatic presentations word-for-word from the ESV Bible. Piercing Word challenges everyone, everywhere they go to memorize the Word of God for themselves and equip them to do so through scripture memorization workshops and discipleship opportunities.

Puffs, a fast-paced romp through the ‘Seven Increasingly Eventful Years at a Certain School of Magic and Magic.’ For those who grew up alongside Potter and are eager to revisit that world, Puffs exudes a jovial, winking fondness for all things Harry!
This clever and inventive play gives you a new look at a familiar adventure from the perspective of three potential heroes just trying to make it through a magic school that proves to be very dangerous for children. Alongside them are the Puffs, a group of well-meaning, loyal outsiders with a thing for badgers . Their hilariously heartfelt and epic journey takes the classic story to new places and reimagines what a boy wizard hero can be.
Puffs is not authorized, sanctioned, licensed or endorsed by J.K Rowling, Warner Bros. or any person or company associated with the Harry Potter books, films or play.

In September of 2004, the Annual Elizabeth Prothro Organ Concert Series was established to bring world-famous organists to Wichita Falls, Texas. Every year in the fall, FUMC invites a world-renowned organist to give a special concert on our 2003 Garland Pipe Organ. Sometimes the show focuses solely on the music, but from time to time, it has featured silent movies. Either way, you will be thoroughly entertained! These are FREE concerts! You do not need a ticket to attend; seating is first come, first served.
This year, the Elizabeth Prothro Organ Concert Series presents Dr. Faythe Freese. Join FUMC on Sunday, October 15, 2023, at 3:00 p.m. in the Sanctuary for an afternoon of music!

Once upon a time, there were four guys (Sparky, Smudge, Jinx and Frankie) who discovered that they shared a love for music and then got together to become their idols – The Four Freshman, The Hi-Lo’s and The Crew Cuts. Rehearsing in the basement of Smudge’s family’s plumbing supply company, they became “Forever Plaid”. On the way to their first big gig, the “Plaids” are broadsided by a school bus and killed instantly. It is at the moment when their careers and lives end that the story of Forever Plaid begins….
Singing in close harmony, squabbling boyishly over the smallest intonations and executing their charmingly outlandish choreography with overzealous precision, the “Plaids” are a guaranteed smash, with a program of beloved songs and delightful patter that keeps audiences rolling in the aisles when they’re not humming along to some of the great nostalgic pop hits of the 1950s.

Mirror, mirror, on the wall, who is the fairest of them all? Well, we all know the reply to that, and soon we’re caught up in the spell of this enchanting classic. The vain and wicked Queen seeks to destroy her rival in beauty. The Dwarfs are obstinate, generous, mean, kind, and totally appealing. The Prince is a true Prince, sometimes foolish, always brave, and Snow White is as lovely and lovable as legend says. First rate adaptation with an exuberant spirit.

Guest Artist: Dave Alexander featuring the Quebe Sisters
Round up your family and friends for the opening concert of our 76th season! Dave Alexander takes the stage in an evening of Texas music and Western swing, featuring the Quebe Sisters. This lively concert unites symphonic orchestration with energetic charm of Western swing and traditional fiddle tunes. Join us for an extraordinary musical journey, where Western tradition meets innovation, and symphony and swing converge in an unforgettable fusion.
Dave Alexander and His Texas Swing Band
Once you’ve seen Dave Alexander perform it’s easy to understand why he’s been named “Entertainer Of The Year”.
Throughout his Award winning career, Dave has gained the respect of his peers while mesmerizing audiences with each performance. His long list of awards, Hall of Fame inductions and Grammy nominations exemplify this multi-instrumentalist and vocalist’s undying love for Texas Music.
It all began with his love for Western Swing. After graduating from the University of North Texas, Dave assembled “The Legends of Western Swing”, a western swing big band featuring former members of Bob Will’s Texas Playboys such as Johnnie Gimble, Leon Rausch, Eldon Shamblin, Pee Wee Lynn and Billy Briggs.
Dave was quickly retained as “House Band” for the Houston Livestock Show and Rodeo, held each year in the Houston Astrodome, carving a musical relationship that would last for over 14 years. It was there Dave met other Country and Western Swing Music stars who he would come to know and eventually tour and record with.
These stars included George Strait, Willie Nelson, Lyle Lovett, Tracy Byrd, Asleep At the Wheel and Randy Travis just to name a few.
Here are just a few of Dave Alexander’s musical accomplishment throughout his career:
• Recognized as one of the Top Selling Western Swing Artists of his time.
• 4 GRAMMY Award Nominations
• 6 Will Rogers Awards, from the Academy Of Western Artists, including Entertainer Of The Year, Male Vocalist, Song of the Year, and Album of the Year.
• Texas Western Swing Hall Of Fame.
• The Oklahoma Country Music Hall Of Fame.
• The Sacramento Western Swing Society Hall Of Fame.
• The Seattle Western Swing Society Hall Of Fame.
• The Fort Worth CowTown Music Hall Of Fame.
Dave has performed and recorded with:
George Strait, Willie Nelson, Randy Travis, Lyle Lovett, Toby Keith, Sheryl Crow, Dwight Yoakam, Tracy Byrd, LeAnn Rimes, Bob Wills’ Texas Playboys and Asleep At The Wheel and many more.
The Quebe Sisters
With over fifteen years of touring to date, The Quebe Sisters have delivered their authentic triple fiddle and three-part harmony sound to the concert halls and festivals of North America, Europe, and Russia.
Grace, Sophia, and Hulda Quebe front an innovative Progressive Western Swing band of archtop guitar, upright bass, fiddles and sibling harmony. The Dallas-based five-piece presents a unique Americana blend of Western Swing, Jazz-influenced Swing, Country, Texas-Style Fiddling, and Western music.
“We differentiate our music as ‘Progressive Western Swing’ from simply ‘Western Swing’ because we aren’t trying to sound just like Bob Wills,” Grace Quebe explains. “Instead, we continue his vision, playing the style he pioneered in an authentic way by incorporating new genres and songs, interpreting them using our own unique voice through Country instrumentation.”
The band’s stripped-down acoustic instrumentation breathes new life into seasoned sounds once found in Texas dance halls and honky-tonks. Grace continues, “To us, preserving the tradition of Western Swing isn’t about keeping something alive like a relic. Western Swing has always been about innovation.”
Innovation has led the sisters to channel the musical connection between danceability and emotiveness, combining old sounds with new feelings and old feelings with new sounds. It’s not nostalgia that drives the band as purveyors of Western Swing, but the aspiration to take the music back to its roots and sustain the spirit of Swing.
Combine the musical stylings of The Mills Brothers, Ray Price, Count Basie, Willie Nelson, and you have none other than The Quebe Sisters.
