The Wichita Falls Alliance for Arts and Culture has announced a new location for the Capture the Heat: Hotter’N Hell Hundred Photography Exhibition.

The exhibition will open during the After Hours Art Walk on Thursday, August 6, at the Alliance tent in the Art Zone on Indiana Avenue. The tent will be located between Seventh and Eighth streets.

The public is invited to attend an exhibition dedication at 6:30 p.m.

The exhibition was originally scheduled for display in a vacant downtown storefront. The building has since been leased to a new business, which is preparing the windows for its own signage and opening. The Alliance welcomes the new business and is using the change as an opportunity to practice the art of flexibility.

Alliance Project Manager Fuago developed a portable gallery system to display the photography. The system will allow photographs to be displayed in temporary and nontraditional locations. The artwork can also be changed out and moved to new sites over time. The new system will give the Alliance more opportunities to present exhibitions at public events and locations throughout Wichita Falls.

The exhibition features photography by Torin Halsey, Robert Johnstonbaugh, Troy Larson, Barry Levy, and Dakota Mize.

Following Art Walk, the exhibition will be installed at the MPEC for Hotter’N Hell Hundred weekend. The location will allow riders, visitors, and residents to view the work during the event it was created to celebrate.

The August After Hours Art Walk will take place from 6 to 9 p.m. Thursday, August 6, in downtown Wichita Falls.
