The Priddy Foundation commissioned the creation of an Arts and Culture Master Plan for Wichita Falls in January 2012. Artists, arts leaders, educators, elected officials, and individuals were involved in creating a new vision for the arts. The plan confirmed that the arts are highly valued as a part of everyday life in Wichita Falls.
This plan also focused on the potential for growth within the arts community and on ways to preserve the unique history and heritage of Wichita Falls. It found that the arts have an important role in educating young people, stimulating the economy, and attracting visitors to the city.
The Alliance was formed as an outgrowth of these conversations. Our role is to support, promote, and cultivate the arts in Wichita Falls and the surrounding areas.
