Read Bio

It started out with love notes to my babysitter and letters to George Lucas. It then became writing short stories about Indiana Jones’s nephew Alabama Jones as a kid. It continued through journalism classes and papers in college. Even as a teacher, trying to foster a love for writing or at least being able to use a comma in a STAAR essay. I published a book about teaching and building relationships called "Silver Bullet Classroom Management." My whole life I’ve been a writer, storyteller. After 13 years of teaching, I left the classroom to bet on my writing, my podcast and myself. A coming age tale at 40 years old amidst a pandemic.

I participated in Storytellers for Wichita Falls Museum of Art at MSU Texas and wrote “Pet of the Month” features for Wichita Falls Neighbors with the hopes of turning all these foster dog stories into a book. I’ve grown my writing through Writers League of Texas courses in Memoir, taught a class for teens about creativity, and help others with their writing.

Going to the movies has always been a sanctuary. I even proposed at the Alamo Drafthouse. My wife and I have a podcast called Mac N Cheese Movies where we cook a dish in the film or related to the film, watch the movie and talk about both. The podcast has grown through the Artist Development Program. I got a website off the ground for the podcast. There have been tie-ins with regional museums to promote their exhibitions. In 2022, I was able to go to Podcast Movement, a conference for podcasting to learn, network and grow Mac N Cheese Movies. At over 100 episodes and a website, I’m ready to see what this baby can do.

I am a mixed media artist who has been exhibited in the Memento Show from 2020-2022.

In 2022, I did an artist residency about Booker T. Washington High School, helping Brenda Jarrett with her book on the school and East Side of Wichita Falls. I recorded interviews and helped set up some organization to help bring her work to life.

Writing, podcasts and art were always side hustles, hobbies and long shots. 2020 made me recalibrate what I want out of my life and it’s to take things off the backburner that I’m passionate about.
