Read Bio

I like to tell stories. I am an author and publisher. I write, design, and illustrate my books and stories, and then publish my work through my publishing imprint, 8th Street Press. Since 2014, I have created and published 9 books of my own. I also published 15 books for other Texoma-based writers.

I graduated from Midwestern State University in Wichita Falls, Texas, with a degree to teach elementary education and sociology, but pursued 4 career paths: teacher, social worker, fundraiser, and freelance journalist. I also gained insight into our human experience through a plethora of “jobs”. All paths diverged, but I eventually came back to my original purpose of telling stories.
I started the Texoma Indie Authors Group for writers in the northern Texas and southern Oklahoma area. I worked with the Wichita Falls Public Library to present National Indie Authors Day in 2018 and 2019.
In August 2020, I developed my publishing imprint, 8th Street Press. Upcoming projects for 2022 and 2023 include an artist residency at a Wichita County non-profit organization and the production of a photography book.
I present classes on writing "your story" and on basics of self-publishing. I am available to do presentations of my work for schools and libraries.
