The Wichita Falls Alliance for Arts and Culture and Wichita County invite artists to submit photography for a new public exhibition at the Wichita County Courthouse. Selected works will be displayed as large acrylic prints in the courthouse stairwells. This opportunity allows photographers to showcase their work in a highly visible setting.
Artists may submit work that aligns with one of two themes:
- Icons of Wichita County: highlighting local landmarks, historic sites, and community events that define the area’s identity.
- Wild Wichita County: A focus on the region’s natural beauty, including landscapes, wildlife, the Red River, and open spaces.
Artists are encouraged to creatively interpret these themes.
This opportunity is open to individual artists who are at least 18 years of age. Applicants must reside in Wichita County or the surrounding region and submit original work. The deadline for submissions is March 25, 2025, at 11:59 PM. Full submission guidelines and the application form are available here.
A panel of jurors with expertise in Wichita County, photography, public art, and/or community engagement will evaluate submissions. Selected artists will receive a $250 stipend per photograph chosen for exhibition. Printing, mounting, and installation costs will be covered by the Wichita Falls Alliance for Arts and Culture.
The exhibition is scheduled for installation in June or July 2025 in the stairwells of the Wichita County Courthouse. Photographs will be printed on acrylic and mounted with standoffs to create a modern, floating effect.
