The Wichita Falls Alliance for Arts and Culture is proud to announce the finalists for the 2024 Arts and Cultural Empowerment (ACE) Awards. The ACE Awards honor individuals and organizations that have made significant contributions to the arts and culture in Wichita County.
The winners will be revealed at the ACE Awards Luncheon on October 16, 2024, at the Bill Bartley YMCA Gymnasium at 11:30 a.m. The event will feature keynote speaker Gay Gaddis, a celebrated artist, author, and business leader. Tickets for the luncheon are now on sale here.

Outstanding Arts Educator:
- Suguru Hiraide, MSU Texas
- Daniel Juarez, Arts Council WF
- Chris Mayfield, WFISD Fine Arts
Artist of the Year:
- Sarah Griego
- Selena Mize
- Kim Ward
Outstanding Cultural Organization:
- Omicron Epsilon Omega, Wichita Falls Chapter of Alpha Kappa Alpha
- Backdoor Theatre
- Wichita Falls Symphony Orchestra
Nadine McKown Volunteer Service Award:
- Mark Wittlinger, Backdoor Theatre
- Tracy Minter, Wichita County Heritage Society
In addition to these awards, the following accolades will be presented during the ceremony:
- Business Champion: Recognizing a business that has made a significant impact on arts and culture in Wichita County through sponsorship, support, or collaboration.
- Margie J. Reese Innovation Award: Celebrating individuals or groups who have inspired and encouraged participation in arts and culture through innovative or creative approaches.
- The Mayor’s Award: Chosen by the Mayor of Wichita Falls, this award honors an individual or organization that has made an outstanding contribution to arts and culture in the community over the past year.
